| INTERNSHIPS SUMMER 2008 JUNE 9 - AUGUST 15 Museum of the Moving Image offers full-time, paid summer internships. Under the supervision of department heads, interns have the opportunity to learn about the full range of Museum operations. Undergraduates entering their senior year in fall 2008, college graduates, and graduate students are eligible to apply. COLLECTION Interns will assist in the researching, cataloging, and digital imaging of objects to be made accessible online. Interns will participate in the development and piloting of the Museum’s open-source, web-based collection management software OpenCollection, and gain direct experience with a broad range of media, artifacts, and ancillary materials. FILM Interns will assist in the development of content for web-based projects, including The Living Room Candidate, an exhibition of historical presidential campaign commercials; Pinewood Dialogues, an archive of talks with filmmakers and actors; and Moving Image Source, a forthcoming online publication dedicated to the history and study of film, television, and digital media. Interns will assist with logistical details and preparations of offsite Museum programs. DIGITAL MEDIA Interns will assist in the production and administration of the Museum’s website and media-based Internet projects, including The Living Room Candidate, Moving Image Source, and Sloan Science and Film. Additional Summer Internship Opportunities The Museum also offers unpaid summer internships in the Collection, Film, Digital Media, PR and Marketing, and Membership and Development departments. Interns work under the guidance of department heads, and have the opportunity to become familiar with the full range of Museum operations. Applicants must be able to work at least ten hours per week at the Museum between 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
