Dir. Lee Lew Lee. 1996, 115 mins. Digital projection. October 2016 marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Black Panther Party for Self Defense. This milestone is being recognized with a special screening and discussion of All Power to the People!, activist filmmaker Lee Lew Lee’s chronicle of the organization that revolutionized the look, tactics, and impact of the struggle for social justice in the 1960s and 1970s. The screening will be followed by an audience discussion with a panel including former members of the Black Panther Party. Among the guests will be Jamal Joseph, one of the members of the Panther 21. Joseph is the author of the book Panther Baby.
