Blackwolf Nagashi in Big Apple

Ongoing

With a live karaoke performance by Dawang Yingfan Huang

Curated by Xiaoying Juliette Yuan and supported by the Taipei Cultural Center

The Blackwolf Nagashi series is the iconic live performance of Dawang “Yingfan” Huang. Taking the “nagashi” live performance popular in early 20th-century Japan and Taiwan, combined with the unique moves of the Blackwolf Dance Theater and a variety of music types, Yingfan’s live performances bring out a chaotic original energy. Instead of using live instrumental accompaniment, Blackwolf Nagashi shows only use pre-recorded audio, broadcast by the lead singer, expanding the definition of karaoke. Yingfan uses a number of oldies, covering them in unique and humorous ways.

Free with museum admission on a first-come, first-served basis.
