Introduced by Dan Callahan, author of Vanessa: The Life of Vanessa Redgrave, and followed by a book signing in the Moving Image Store

Dir. Michelangelo Antonioni. 1966, 111 mins. 35mm. With Vanessa Redgrave, David Hemmings. Vanessa Redgrave is the tricky center of the mystery in Antonioni’s existential masterpiece, a stylized portrait of Swinging London that is sexy but disquieting, amusing but forbidding, anguished but hopeful. Hemmings plays a photographer who takes some photos in a park and realizes that he has captured a murder. Redgrave, at the height of her beauty and youthful command, is the woman who will do anything to get the photographs from him. Dan Callahan, author of Vanessa: The Life of Vanessa Redgrave (2014, Pegasus Books), will introduce the film. His book is the first in-depth biography of the woman many have called our greatest living actress.
