Finding Samuel Lowe: From Harlem to China

Ongoing

With Paula Williams Madison and Jeanette Kong in person

Dir. Jeanette Kong. 2014, 58 mins. Three successful black siblings from Harlem discover their heritage by searching for clues about their long-lost Chinese grandfather, Samuel Lowe. The siblings, including retired NBC Universal executive Paula Williams Madison, were raised in Harlem by their Chinese-Jamaican mother. She encouraged them to realize a rags-to-riches American dream, resulting in their growth from welfare recipients to wealthy entrepreneurs. Their ancestral journey takes them from Toronto to Jamaica to China, and to an emotional and unforgettable family reunion, in a story about familial love that transcends race, space, and time.

Free admission. Tickets will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis, starting at 6:30 p.m.
