I Tremble with Anticipation

Ongoing

I Tremble with Anticipation is a video poem by artist Andrew Demirjianmade from a database of more than 500 subtitled still images of foreign-language movies. The work features meticulously selected frames that are orchestrated into a narrative, juxtaposing text, gesture, and setting, creating a new dialogue across films. The work is at once an homage to the history of film and a radical realignment of sonic and visual cinematic conventions, featuring frames from luminary directors like Chantal Akerman, Tsai Ming-liang, Sergei Paradjanov, Margarethe Von Trotta, and more. I Tremble with Anticipationis a Harvestworks Creative Residency Project.
