The seventh film from Terrence Malick, Knight of Cups follows moody writer Rick (Bale) on an odyssey through the playgrounds of Los Angeles and Las Vegas as he searches for love, enlightenment, and peace with his past. He moves through a desire-laden landscape of mansions, resorts, beaches, and clubs, grappling with complicated relationships with his brother (Bentley), father (Dennehy), and six alluring women. Knight of Cups offers both a vision of modern life and an intensely personal experience of memory, family, and love. Featuring cinematography by Oscar winner Emmanuel Lubezki, and production design by Oscar nominee Jack Fisk (The Revenant, There Will Be Blood).
