Dir. Ira Sachs. 2014, 94 mins. DCP courtesy Sony Pictures Classics. With Alfred Molina, John Lithgow, Marisa Tomei. Writer-director Ira Sachs (Keep the Lights On, Forty Shades of Blue, Married Life), the subject of a Moving Image retrospective in 2012, will be at the Museum for this exclusive members-only screening of his acclaimed new film, featuring remarkable performances by John Lithgow, Alfred Molina, and Marisa Tomei. After George (Molina) loses his job at a Catholic school because he married his long-term partner, Ben (Lithgow), the two are forced to move out of their New York apartment, prompting them to stay separately with friends and family. Tensions rise as they struggle to connect with each other and their respective hosts. This wonderfully detailed New York story is bound to be one of the most talked-about movies of the summer, and its impact will linger on long after it is seen.

Free screening for Museum members only. Screening is currently at capacity. Please email [email protected] to be added to the Wait List.
