Mythopathy (Notias)

Ongoing

Dir. Tassos Boulmetis. 2016, 99 mins. DCP. With Yannis Nirros, Themis Panou, Maria Kallimani. Stavros is a young boy whose hyperactive imagination wreaks havoc upon Greek mythology and history, causing considerable concern for his parents and teachers. A fortuneteller identifies the boy’s problem as a case of “mythopathy.” Coming of age during the turbulent yet promising 1960s and 1970s, the adult Stavros experiences first love, heartbreak, and political engagement.
