Her truncated stay at the creepy, run-down Bates Motel culminates in the most iconic shower ever taken, in a sequence where precise editing and camera placement simply overwhelm. If it ended there, Psycho would be a classic; that it continues, boldly plumbing a depth of psychosis never before seen in Hollywood, makes it the stuff of myth.
