Big Bird (performed by Carol Spinney, subject of the acclaimed new documentary I Am Big Bird) made his big-screen debut 30 years ago in Sesame Street Presents: Follow that Bird. Featuring a cast of Sesame Street regulars as well as a star-studded array of cameo guests including Chevy Chase, John Candy, and Waylon Jennings, the movie follows Big Bird’s journey back to Sesame Street after a well-intentioned social worker places him within a family of birds, far away from his friends. Emilio Delgado plays Luis on Sesame Street, a role he has held since 1971.
