To hide, they don wigs and dresses and fly away south with an all-girl band. And that’s the set-up for what many consider the funniest movie ever made. The delights are profound: Lemmon’s increasingly giddy enjoyment of his new persona, Curtis’s delightful Cary Grant impression, and Monroe’s sultry poignancy as the curvy ukulele player who turns their heads.
