Fields stars as small-town New Jersey glazier Sam Bisbee with a potential million-dollar invention on his hands in this surprisingly lyrical feature. In an unmistakably Fieldsian plotline, inebriation combines with over-confidence to thwart his get-rich-quick scheme. With an irritated wife and a disappointed crowd of investors on his hands, Bisbee searches for another chance to win the town over. The story was recycled for the 1935 film You’re Telling Me, with Fields reprising the role of Bisbee.
