Dir. Lara Stolman. 2016. 90 min. Digital projection. Swim Team is a documentary following three star athletes from a competitive swim team of diverse teens on the autism spectrum. Striving for inclusion and independence, the teens face challenges as they approach adulthood in a world where they are often excluded and feel dependent. The team and their coach set high expectations with no pity as the Jersey Hammerheads compete for state and national Special Olympics championships. Swim Team is “eye-opening, thoughtful, inspiring”—Sheri Linden, The Hollywood Reporter. Recommended ages 11 and up.
