Commissioned by Harvestworks with funds from the New York State Council on the Arts
U.S. premiere. Talking Drums is a new multimedia piece by Sergio Krakowski for percussion, guitar, piano, and electronics. The goal is to extend expression of the Pandeiro, the Brazilian tambourine, and create a musical experience that explores the boundaries between spoken language and music. The piece aligns ancient tools to cutting edge technology, bringing tradition to life. It also sheds light on Brazilian culture.
