In The Formation of the Worm, Zhang Yousheng (a.k.a. Sovietronic) explores the structures, changes, patterns, and layers of sound or noise with a no-input mixer¾ a device that is a throwback to the pre-laptop era. The no-input mixer is a feedback machine that can be easily assembled from mixers, wires, and amplifiers through which sound can be shaped.
