With Viola Davis, Emma Stone, Octavia Spencer. The Help, about an author during the civil rights movement who writes a book about black women who take care of southern white families, is one of the year’s surprise box-office hits. Viola Davis, who has won two Tony Awards and an Oscar nomination, gives one of the year’s most acclaimed performances as Aibilieen, the maid who starts a quiet revolution in segregated “Jim Crow” Mississippi. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with actresses Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, and the director, Tate Taylor.
