EVENT, SCREENING

The Last of the Mohicans (director’s cut)

Ongoing

Location: Redstone Theater

Introduced by Matt Zoller Seitz

Dir. Michael Mann. 1992, 117 mins. DCP. With Daniel Day-Lewis, Madeleine Stowe, Eric Schweig, Jodhi May, Steven Waddington, Wes Studi, Pete Postlethwaite. Even though Michael Mann’s director’s cut version of The Last of the Mohicans is only five minutes longer than the theatrical version, the film has been substantively tweaked throughout, and feels more like a Barry Lyndon–style period drama, more contemplative than kinetic, delving into the nuances of the period more thoroughly.
