Director Ari Folman interviewed fellow veterans of the 1982 invasion of Lebanon, and used this documentary material as the basis for a timeless and unique animated feature, called “a memoir, a history lesson, a combat picture, a piece of investigative journalism and an altogether amazing film” by A.O. Scott in The New York Times.
