Three Materialist Shorts + Matsumoto’s Atman and Owen Land’s Wide Angle Saxon

Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 2:00 pm

Location: Bartos Screening Room

With Anja Dornieden and Juan David González Monroy in person

This trio of shorts frames the OJOBOCA project to this date, featuring Dornieden and González Monroy’s very first collaboration, the kaleidoscopic consumer satire Awe Shocks, and their most recent film, Instant Life, which claims to reproduce an imaginary, long-lost science film in the surreal mode of French filmmaker Jean Painlevé. Accompanying the shorts are two classic avant-garde rarities, Toshio Matsumoto’s Atman and Owen Land’s Wide Angle Saxon, selected by the filmmakers themselves.
