Screening of Brides followed by a conversation with director Pantelis Voulgaris, screenwriter Ioanna Karystiani, moderated by Variety film critic Scott Foundas. Reception follows discussion.

Pantelis Voulgaris is one of the most acclaimed contemporary Greek film directors, and his outstanding film Brides was produced by Martin Scorsese. Brides takes place in 1922, on a ship that sails from Smyrna, Greece, with mail-order brides bound for New York. The complex intersection of new and old world ways of life is embodied in a shipboard romance between an American photographer and a Greek seamstress.

Tickets: $15 ($9 Museum members at the Film Lover, Dual, and Family levels / free for Silver Screen members and above).  This event is sold out. Tickets may become available on a first-come, first-served basis through a standby line. Visit the Museum’s admission desk after 6:00 p.m. to secure a position in the standby line.
