Getting in Good Trouble

Ongoing

With organizers Tiffany Brown and Antoinette Gregg, moderated by guest curator Tiffany Joy Butler

In honor of the late congressman and civil rights activist John Lewis, and in conjunction with the powerful documentary John Lewis: Good Trouble, available for viewing via Museum of the Moving Image’s Virtual Cinema, MoMI guest curator Tiffany Joy Butler and organizers Tiffany Brown and Antoinette Gregg will discuss their experiences getting into “good trouble” (to paraphrase Lewis’s legendary quote) as protesters marching in the Black Lives Matter movement for the justice of those murdered by police officers. The moderators will explore the significance of documenting protests and archiving social movements for remembering and activating the social engagement of future generations. Brown and Gregg are co-hosts of Protest Baes, a podcast centering on Black sisterhood.

During the conversation, we will share moments from John Lewis: Good Trouble. With your RSVP confirmation, you will receive a discount code to view the documentary with your family.
