Godzilla vs. Megalon

Sunday, Apr 2 at 3:30 pm

Location: Bartos Screening Room

Dir. Jun Fukuda. 1973, 81 mins. With Katsuhiko Sasaki, Hiroyuki Kawase, Yutaka Hayashi, Robert Dunham, Shinji Takagi, Hideto Date, Kenpachiro Satsuma, Tsugutoshi Komada.  When a race of undersea people enlists the help of two titanic terrors, Megalon and Gigan, to destroy the surface world, Godzilla leaves his quiet home on Monster Island to battle alongside Jet Jaguar, an android created by Earth scientists with perplexing powers, in a tag-team match with the fate of the world on the line. Though once denounced among tokusatsu fans who prefer more serious kaiju fare, this fun adventure, in which the King of the Monsters reaches his peak as campy saurian superhero, has gained a strong cult following in recent years.

Tickets: $15 / $11 senior and students / $9 youth (ages 3–17) / free for MoMI members at the Senior/Student level and above. Order tickets. Please pick up tickets at the Museum’s admissions desk upon arrival. All seating is general admission. Review safety protocols before your visit.
