Howl’s Moving Castle (in Japanese)

Dir. Hayao Miyazaki. 2005, 119 mins. DCP. In Japanese with English subtitles. Featuring the voices of Chieko Baishô, Takuya Kimura. Loosely based on Diana Wynn Jones’s novel, Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki created a world filled with witches and curses where a young woman, Sophie, is turned into an old woman by a curse and a castle has legs! Sophie meets Howl, a wizard who is also cursed, and his castle filled with an odd assortment of friends that become family. Together they must try to undo their curses and find self-acceptance. Recommended for ages 8+.

The screenings of Howl’s Moving Castle on Wednesday, December 26 and Friday, December 28 will be presented dubbed in English.
