SCREENING

Invisible Invaders

Saturday, Sep 3 at 1:45 pm

Location: Bartos Screening Room

Dir. Edward L. Cahn, 1959, 67 mins. Digital projection. With John Agar, Jean Byron, Philip Tonge, Robert Hutton, John Carradine. Between Revenge of the Zombies (1943) and Voodoo Man (1944), John Carradine already boasted a somewhat storied zombie legacy (and he would trade on that history yet again in 1977’s Shock Waves). Here, he appears as a scientist killed in a lab explosion only to be subsequently reanimated by unseen aliens, threatening to invade Earth if its government does not surrender. Though somewhat forgotten, the film harnesses stock footage with a rather clear-eyed view of the cost of war and a pervasive eeriness that eclipses its dated special effects.

Tickets: $15 / $11 senior and students / $9 youth (ages 3–17) / Free or discounted for MoMI members ($11). Order tickets. Please pick up tickets at the Museum’s admissions desk upon arrival. All seating is general admission. Review safety protocols before your visit.

Ticketholders may add on a visit to the Living with the Walking Dead exhibition for $10.
