Peeping Tom

Dir. Michael Powell. 1960, 101 mins. 35mm. With Karlheinz Böhm, Anna Massey, Moira Shearer. Initially reviled, but now considered a classic study of cinematic voyeurism, Michael Powell’s 1960 masterpiece is about a young photographer obsessed with killing women and filming their final contorted expressions. Martin Scorsese has described it is a film that “says everything that can be said about filmmaking, [and] the process of dealing with film.”
