SCREENING

Pulp Fiction

Ongoing

With stories by Abe Goldfarb, Nat Cassidy, and Jason Bailey

Dir. Quentin Tarantino. 1994, 155 mins. 35mm. With John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson. Tarantino’s indie blockbuster with elaborately intertwining stories about a pair of hit men, a boxer, a gangster’s wife, and a couple of petty crooks earned more than $100 million at the box office. It also reignited John Travolta’s screen career, capped by his dance-floor duet with Uma Thurman to Chuck Berry’s “You Never Can Tell.” No original score was created for the film; the soundtrack consists entirely of an unforgettable mix of rock and roll, surf music, and soul songs.
