Dir. S. S. Rajamouli. 2022, 187 mins. In Telugu with English subtitles. With N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, Olivia Morris. This epic adventure set in 1920s India has become one of the international movie sensations of the year. Directed by Rajamouli (who won the Best Director award from the New York Film Critics Circle), RRR is an exhilarating, action-packed saga that creates a work of mythological excess out of the real-life story of freedom fighters  Komaram Bheem (N.T Rama Rao Jr., aka Jr NTR) and Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan), who helped lead India’s fight for independence from the British Raj. Rajamouli’s film is so baroquely over the top that it becomes a kind of sublime kitsch; as history it may be dubious, but as cinematic spectacle it’s undeniable.

Tickets: $15 / $11 senior and students / $9 youth (ages 3–17) / discounted for MoMI members ($7–$11). Order tickets. Please pick up tickets at the Museum’s admissions desk upon arrival. All seating is general admission. Review safety protocols before your visit.
