Thriller Dance Day!

Thursday, Oct 27, 2022 at 3:00 pm

3:00–6:00 p.m.

’Tis the season for zombie dances! After viewing the Museum’s Living with The Walking Dead exhibition, dancer-performer Renée Brailsford was inspired to reimagine the killer dance moves of Michael Jackson’s iconic “Thriller.” Ms. Brailsford will lead a group of dancers through the choreography of “Thriller” as part of a fun day of festive family programming in collaboration with MoMI Education that will also include a Museum tour and face painting!

Any Museum visitor is welcome to join the performance at 5:30 p.m. Prior to this public dance performance, from 3:00–5:00 p.m., visitors are welcome to zombify their face with face paint by local makeup artist Cheeky Chipmunk and then join us for a family-friendly Halloween-themed Museum tour featuring the puppet Silly Willy at 4:45 p.m.

Schedule of events:

3:00–5:00 p.m.: Face painting with local makeup artist Cheeky Chipmunk

4:45 p.m.: Halloween-themed Museum tour with Silly Willy through Behind the Screen and The Jim Henson Exhibition

5:30 p.m.: Public dance performance inspired by Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”

All programs are free.
