Working on It (Day Two)

The Working on It program, which offers a lab-like environment for work-in-progress screenings, workshops, and discussions about the artistic process, will take place during the day March 15–17, and is open to the public.  

Day Two

12:00–3:00 p.m.: Reverse Shot Emerging Critics Workshop (PRIVATE) 

12:30–2:30 p.m.: Work-in-Progress session (Bartos Screening Room) 

Short films presented from the School of Visual Arts BFA Film Department. Participating students include Patricia Marrero Perez, Jai Jackson, Robert McMahon, and Wenxiao (Vince) Li. Moderated by Associate Curator of Film Edo Choi. 

1:00–3:00 p.m.: Work-in-Progress screening (Redstone Theater) 

Director Elizabeth Nichols presents a cut of her feature documentary, Flying Lessons, which follows punk artist Philly Abe’s intimate journey of social, artistic and spiritual transformation in the face of New York City’s cultural crisis. Philly mourns the city she once loved as she joins with a band of anti-gentrification tenants to fight against harassment by their notorious landlord. Moderated by Curator of Film Eric Hynes.  

3:00–5:30 p.m.: Work-in-Progress session (Bartos Screening Room) 

Short films presented as works in progress from the Jonathan B. Murray Center for Documentary Journalism at the Missouri School of Journalism. Participating students: Kennedy McGilvery, Madison McMillen, and Josh Ellenburg. Moderated by Associate Curator of Film Edo Choi.  

3:30–5:30 p.m.: Work-in-Progress screening (Redstone Theater) (RESTRICTED TO FESTIVAL BADGE HOLDERS) 

The Sundance Documentary Film Program presents a work in progress feature film co-directed by Andres “Jay” Molina and Alexis Neophytides. Together with members of the film team and the film’s participants, they will take part in a process-driven conversation about collaborative filmmaking, art and activism. Followed by a discussion moderated by Curator of Film Eric Hynes.  

Followed by a reception sponsored by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
