Artist Talk & Rotoscoping Workshop

On April 16, media artist Carrie Hawks will give an artist talk followed by a hands-on animation workshop combining digital and analog filmmaking.

Artist in Conversation: sTo Len

On January 28, artist sTo Len will be in conversation with Assistant Curator of Public Programs Tiffany Joy Butler to discuss his artistic practice of remixing DSNY’s media archives and his residency at the New York Department of Sanitation.

An Evening with Frederick Wiseman

On 10/26, spend a very special evening with the great filmmaker Frederick Wiseman, including a screening of his 2022 film A Couple, a rare fiction feature that looks at the long marriage between Leo and Sophie Tolstoy through a series of monologues, followed by a conversation between Wiseman and series curator David Schwartz.

Building Asteroid City

In this special screening and discussion on Thursday 12/7, production designer Adam Stockhausen will give an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at how Wes Anderson's dazzling Asteroid City was created.

The audacious blend of Midwestern understatement and violent mayhem in Joel and Ethan Coen's Fargo is perfectly captured by Carter Burwell’s lean but unforgettable score. On 4/14, the Oscar-nominated composer will appear in person to discuss his score and his career.
