This installation, created as part of Persona Performa, a performance commissioned for PERFORMA 11 at the Museum in 2011, was inspired by Ingmar Bergman’s 1966 film Persona, and by the motion studies of photographer Eadweard Muybridge (featured in the Museum’s core exhibition Behind the Screen). Persona Performa Panorama consists of 24 actors from New York City, each representing a single frame of a moving image strip.
