Building the World of Ghost of Tsushima

Sep 11, 2020

Ghost of Tsushima is the newest game from Sucker Punch Productions, the acclaimed studio behind popular franchises Sly Cooper and Infamous. The game’s co-creative directors, Nate Fox and Jason Connell, participated in a conversation about designing the game’s open world, crafting its protagonist, and the important influence of classic films like Seven Samurai and Yojimbo to the development process, moderated by MoMI Development and Marketing Manager Max Cornillon.

Players take the role of Jin Sakai, a samurai tasked with defending the Japanese island of Tsushima from the invading Mongol empire in 1274. To combat the Mongols and save his people, Jin must shed the teachings of the samurai and become something more.
