MoMI’s Deputy Director for Curatorial Affairs Barbara Miller spoke to Paula Benson, founder of Film and Furniture, an online resource that offers insights into the production design and set decoration of iconic films. The site, with in-depth articles about the history of film design and interviews with leading designers, also provides ways for avid fans to purchase decor featured in their favorite films. Film and Furniture supported MoMI’s Envisioning 2001: Stanley Kubrick’s Space Odyssey exhibition by lending a reproduction of Olivier Mourgue’s vivid magenta Djinn chair, an unforgettable element of the set of 2001: A Space Odyssey.
