George Clinton

Oct 27, 2014

George Clinton is one of the foremost innovators of funk music and the mastermind behind the bands Parliament and Funkadelic a.k.a. the P-Funk All Stars. On the occasion of his eagerly awaited memoir entitled Brothas Be, Yo Like George, Ain’t That Funkin’ Kinda Hard on You?: A Memoir (2014, Atria Books), Clinton appeared at MoMI for a very special evening, including a discussion moderated by James Mtume (Grammy-winning recording artist, former Miles Davis band member, and New York talk radio show host), a screening of the psychedelic tour de force TV cult favorite special Cosmic Slop, and a book signing.

Discussions with creative figures in film, television, and digital media—formerly the Pinewood Dialogues—made possible with a generous grant from the Pannonia Foundation.
