Getting in Good Trouble

Aug 5, 2020

In honor of the late congressman and civil rights activist John Lewis, and in conjunction with the powerful documentary John Lewis: Good Trouble, MoMI guest curator Tiffany Joy Butler and organizers Tiffany Brown and Antoinette Gregg discuss their experiences getting into “good trouble” (to paraphrase Lewis’s legendary quote) as protesters marching in the Black Lives Matter movement for the justice of those murdered by police officers.

The moderators explored the significance of documenting protests and archiving social movements for remembering and activating the social engagement of future generations. Brown and Gregg are co-hosts of Protest Baes, a podcast centering on Black sisterhood.

During the conversation, we shared moments from John Lewis: Good Trouble. All clips from John Lewis: Good Trouble are courtesy of Magnolia Pictures.
