Beyond Bandung: Legacies of African & Asian Cultural Unity

Museum of the Moving is partnering with The Museum for African Art and the Institute for Research in African-American Studies at Columbia University to present Beyond Bandung: Legacies of African & Asian Cultural Unity, two days of lectures, dialogues, film, and cultural presentations examining the long-standing historical, cultural and political ties of the African continent and the African Diaspora with that of Asia. Particular focus will be on the connection of past and current-day cross-cultural influences and political developments. For more information, click here. The Museum will present a screening of The Karate Kid (2010), and a panel discussion about the link between African and Asian martial arts.
