Museum of the Moving Image presents a recurring selection of film screenings tied to our ongoing exhibition Cinema of Sensations, which is devoted to the work of José Val del Omar (1904–1982). A visionary Spanish artist, filmmaker, and inventor who approached cinema as a multisensory experience, Val del Omar has inspired filmmakers and artists from around the world for decades. This series features filmmakers whose art connects to Val del Omar’s ideas of expanded cinema, as well as Val del Omar’s own work, presented within the context of a traditional screening room.
