Frederick Wiseman’s New York

Oct 9 — Nov 7, 2015

Frederick Wiseman’s new film In Jackson Heights is his ninth film made in New York City over a span of 45 years. This makes the Cambridge-based documentary filmmaker one of the great chroniclers of life in New York, with a wide range of subjects encompassing the city’s social welfare organizations, its cultural and leisure life, the world of public education, fashion, and more. If there are eight million stories in New York, Wiseman has captured many of them, showing the human side of the complex institutions that make up the fabric of the city.

In Jackson Heights will have its world theatrical premiere at Film Forum in New York City on November 4.
