Henson Screenings and Programs (January–March, 2012)

Jan 7 — Mar 4, 2012

From January through March, 2012, a selection of the best episodes of The Muppet Show will be shown in conjunction with the exhibition Jim Henson’s Fantastic World. Seen in more than 100 countries by upwards of 235 million people, The Muppet Show (1976–1981) was probably the most widely-viewed television program in the world in the late 1970s. The half-hour variety show delighted audiences with its Muppet cast and famous guest stars. This selection of great episodes was made by Craig Shemin, president of The Jim Henson Legacy. There will also be an Oscar-day triple feature of the first three Muppet movies, a sing-along with Heather Henson and The Muppet Movie, plus workshops led by professional puppeteers, and much more.

This series is organized by Museum of the Moving Image in partnership with The Jim Henson Legacy.
