Irregular Evidence: Deepfakes and Suspect Footage in Film

​​In conjunction with the exhibition Deepfake: Unstable Evidence on Screen, this series delves into the myriad ways evidentiary footage has been manipulated or mimicked in film, from slippery segments in Sarah Polley’s Stories We Tell and Andrei Ujica’s Out of the Present to docu-fictional works like Orson Welles’s F for Fake and Peter Jackson’s Forgotten Silver, to sleight-of-edits like Dean Fleischer-Camp’s Fraud and Penny Lane’s Nuts.
