Kumiko and the Zellner Bros.

Saturday, Feb 28 - Thursday, Mar 5, 2015

Variety critic Scott Foundas described Austin-based filmmakers David and Nathan Zellner as “modern-day folk-tale tellers and mythmakers who find endless danger and wonderment in what Greil Marcus famously dubbed the old, weird America.” Their new film Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter, a favorite at Sundance and many other film festivals, follows the tragicomic tale of a young Japanese woman who traveled to Minnesota to try to find the money that was buried in the movie Fargo. It is the latest odd tale told by the Zellner Brothers, who are building an impressive body of offbeat feature and short films.
